Web Hosting FAQ

My site is down! When will your servers be back up?

Sometimes the reason is the Internet connectivity, not our servers. Before filing a helpdesk ticket, check if other websites are working normally or not.

Check yahoo.com or google.com or your friend's website.

If you can't access those sites, then that means your internet service provider has some connectivity problem.

Lastly, do a traceroute. Here is how you do this in a windows PC.

To do a traceroute on a Windows machine...

Bring up the Run Command window (Windows key+R).
Type: cmd
At the new command prompt, type: tracert yourdomain.com

To copy the trace once it has completed...
Right-click on the trace and select 'Mark'.
Now highlight the entire trace and press the key. This copies it.
CTRL+V then paste it in the help ticket or forum.

A good trace should not have any *'s in it. This shows that there is likely a problem on that "hop" of the connection. Large numbers also show a lag in those areas.
